I'm not a particularly avid fan of pink, or of Hummers, but I must admit, I'm jealous of whoever drives this:

'Twas a lovely jewel of eye candy in the Wal*Mart parking lot.

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
and climb on every rung.
May you stay forever young

I saw Slumdog Millionaire.

I found it highly overrated.

There.
I said it.

Dear Winter,

Okay.
I get it.

You're grey, bleak, slushy, wet, slippery, impossibly snowy and bone-chillingly frigid.

You reserve the right to obstruct roads, block driveways, freeze our cheeks and push us inside.

You've made your point.

Now, kindly pass the baton to spring.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
A winter-weary traveler

From [info]pickledherring :

Your Word is "Love"

You see life as possibility to form deep connections with a few people.

Relationships are the center of your world, and you always take time to bond with those you love.

You are caring and giving. You enjoy helping those you love.

And when it comes to romantic love, you feel passionately ... even in a very long term relationship.

Me with Emma, 11-24-08

My eyes are small but they have seen
the beauty of enormous things
Which leads me to believe
there's light enough to see that
You make everything glorious
And I am Yours
What does that make me?

You are an Ingrid -- "I am unique"

Ingrids have sensitive feelings and are warm and perceptive.

How to Get Along with Me

  • * Give me plenty of compliments. They mean a lot to me.

  • * Be a supportive friend or partner. Help me to learn to love and value myself.

  • * Respect me for my special gifts of intuition and vision.

  • * Though I don't always want to be cheered up when I'm feeling melancholy, I sometimes like to have someone lighten me up a little.

  • * Don't tell me I'm too sensitive or that I'm overreacting!

What I Like About Being an Ingrid

  • * my ability to find meaning in life and to experience feeling at a deep level

  • * my ability to establish warm connections with people

  • * admiring what is noble, truthful, and beautiful in life

  • * my creativity, intuition, and sense of humor

  • * being unique and being seen as unique by others

  • * having aesthetic sensibilities

  • * being able to easily pick up the feelings of people around me

What's Hard About Being an Ingrid

  • * experiencing dark moods of emptiness and despair

  • * feelings of self-hatred and shame; believing I don't deserve to be loved

  • * feeling guilty when I disappoint people

  • * feeling hurt or attacked when someone misundertands me

  • * expecting too much from myself and life

  • * fearing being abandoned

  • * obsessing over resentments

  • * longing for what I don't have

Ingrids as Children Often

  • * have active imaginations: play creatively alone or organize playmates in original games

  • * are very sensitive

  • * feel that they don't fit in

  • * believe they are missing something that other people have

  • * attach themselves to idealized teachers, heroes, artists, etc.

  • * become antiauthoritarian or rebellious when criticized or not understood

  • * feel lonely or abandoned (perhaps as a result of a death or their parents' divorce)

Ingrids as Parents

  • * help their children become who they really are

  • * support their children's creativity and originality

  • * are good at helping their children get in touch with their feelings

  • * are sometimes overly critical or overly protective

  • * are usually very good with children if not too self-absorbed

At the behest of my friend Chris, I recently read F. Scott Fitzgerald's story The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

"Brilliant" and all of its synonyms are the only words worthy of its description.

This is the trailer for the forthcoming film by David Fincher:

Oh my.
I am excited.

Is there a unisex collective term for "nieces and nephews"?

Like for "sons and daughters", there is "children" (also, "offspring", "progeny", etc).
For "husbands and wives", there is "spouses."
For "brothers and sisters", there is "siblings."

Is there one all-inclusive term for "nieces and nephews" that I've never learned?

Just wondering.

Ever wondered what The World's Cheesiest Love Songs are?

Look no further.

So many times while perusing the list, I found myself crying out "Hey! I like that song!"
Hahaha!
Apparently I ♥ Cheese.
